Now, we share our passion by helping  businesses and other organizations of all sizes, to innovate, compete and grow. Jerome C. Brinker, Jr. (“J.C.”) is the founder and principal consultant for Brinker Consulting Group.  Most recently, he served as the liaison to help businesses, industrial organizations, and other non-academic organizations navigate through the Old Dominion University academic structure - to enable them to access the University's vast resources and faculty expertise - associated with six academic colleges, 1200 faculty and numerous world-class applied research centers/institutes.  

J.C. also managed the U.S. Department of Commerce's Manufacturing Extension Partnership Program for Southeastern, Virginia and provided resource support/training/services to strengthen and improve the competitiveness of the regional manufacturing sector. Additionally, he provided training and consulting in Growth and Innovation Engineering, Business Entrepreneurial Skills, Effectual Entrepreneurship, and Lean Six Sigma Continuous Improvement methodologies, tools and techniques. 

J.C. received his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management from Old Dominion University and a Master of Science in Administration from Central Michigan University. He has a proven track record as a successful leader with a unique and diverse professional background, attained while serving in the military (Major, U.S. Army Quartermaster Corps); with state government (Associate Utilities Engineer, Division of Energy Regulation, Virginia State Corporation Commission); with commercial industry (International Marketing and Service Manager, GE Transportation, General Electric Company); with higher education (Director of Development, Frank Batten College of Engineering and Technology, Old Dominion University);. and while serving most recently as a consultant (Director of the Technology Applications Center, Old Dominion University).

J.C. has extensive industry training and credentials, is a graduate of the GE management Development Course; Lead Hampton Roads Class of 2011; and the Emerging Leaders Program sponsored by the U.S. Department of Commerce, Manufacturing Extension Partnership Program (MEP).  He has served on numerous boards and committees to include: Norfolk Board, Hampton Roads Chamber; Community Engagement Advisory Board, Old Dominion University; Industrial Advisory Board, Frank Batten College of Engineering and Technology; and the Benchmarking Committee, Network of Academic Corporate Relations Officers.
